Hello world…
welcome to my blog
First and foremost, thank you for stopping by. Maybe I'm not much of a writer, but I thought this would be the best way to share my ideas, personal experiences and current projects. And of course, for you to get to know me. Second, I want to express my gratitude to those of you that have supported me on this journey.
Speaking of journey, you may be wondering what brought me here. So here goes. Over the years, I have had many friends that have inspired me with their entrepreneurial spirit, wisdom, and courage. It takes a lot of courage to step outside your comfort zone and pursue something that may or may not work. These women truly represent strength and have been my pillars of strength throughout my life. Yes, their personal journeys haven't been easy and they've navigated through the good and the bad, but ultimately success is the bottom line. These women own thriving businesses in fitness, nutrition, beauty, real estate, jewelry, furniture, art, and photography. This truly has been my inspiration and the fuel that propelled me to this new endeavor.
I've always been the creative type with an eye for really beautiful things. I remember shopping with my Mom and Dad as a kid, and always choosing items for my wardrobe that were beyond their budget. My Dad would say, "Lisa your taste is impeccable and expensive." My style was a bit conservative meets a little trendy, so my wardrobe was filled with classic lines, with gorgeous fabrics, and only few trendy items. It's no wonder that I ended up in the fashion world after college. I was placed in the buying offices of Bloomingdale's in Manhattan. My first buying trip to Perry Ellis was a hit. I stepped into that showroom and without a winch, selected the buy for the upcoming winter season. When that shipment hit our stores, I was so proud to merchandise it as I saw fit to wear. Not only was it visually appealing, but it actually SOLD!! Years later, I moved into the world of cosmetics. Here I grew an appreciation for color and for making women feel and look their best. All the while, I was moving around like a vagabond, but all these moves afforded me the opportunity to meet new people, explore different cities, and to own 12 homes. Those houses gave me the chance to play with interior design. I was always, moving furniture, painting rooms, repainting, recovering, and reorganizing the pieces within. Little by little, friends and neighbors would come to me for home styling and even fashion advice. Throughout the years, more and more of these ladies would tell me "Lisa, you need to start your own business and do this professionally." I knew that then was not the right time, as I was raising a son, maintaining a home and working, but it remained a thought in my mind. Someday, I would have the chance to step outside my comfort zone and start my own business.
So here we are, full circle, back to what brought me launching, LisaAdrienne Interior Styling and Design. You can say that all of the above played a huge influence but more than that, I was and am finally ready to give this a go. The funny thing is, I'm just one of thousands of designers in the states, I don't know what the future holds for this business, but I'm confident in my skills, and my love for making your home a beautiful and comfortable place that you love coming back to day after day..
